June 22, 2006 - Platinum Sponsor at the ALC conference in Milwaukee, WI

Language agencies from all other the United States, Europe and Latin America convened in Milwaukee, WI to learn about current issues with the language industry as it relates to Language Agencies. International Translators was one of only two available slots for a Platinum Sponsor at the conference. 

Our company president addressed the attendees and offered support for future ALC conferences. Prominent individuals from the interpreting and translating industry attended and our representatives were able to exchange ideas on running a language agency. It was a true learning experience for us. 

March 28, 2006 - LEP workshop in Sheboygan, WI

To create interpreter awareness and to educate the general public on the use of interpreters and translators our organization organized a Limited English Proficiency workshop in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  Among the speakers were representatives from the Office Civil Rights (Division V, Chicago), the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. 

Participants from county agencies, school districts and police departments as well as the general public were present. The workshop was a huge success creating awareness for dealing effectively with other languages and learning the law concerning new immigrants with limited English proficiency.

November 6, 2005 - Annual ATA conference in Seattle, WA

As part of a tradition and to continuously learn more about our industry, our organization attended the American Translators Association conference in Seattle. Members of our organization attended numerous presentation geared for the translation industry and also some sessions focusing on medical and judicial interpreting. Meeting colleagues and friends in the interpreting and translating industry from all over the world is something we enjoy, and making lasting relationships with highly skilled linguists provides us with an scholar's perspective to bring to our daily work.

October 22, 2005 - MMIA Annual Conference in Boston, MA

Delegates from our organization attended the Massachusetts Medical Interpreter Association in Boston. Our objective during this conference was primarily to mingle with medical interpreters from all over the Unites States and to learn about current practices in our industry. We were also able to attend the very first CCHCP meeting for licensed "Bridging The Gap" trainers and the new updates to teach our staff of interpreters.
